I have nothing more to say about this man. He’s earned my respect and admiration since I first heard him play the acoustic guitar. Yes, he’s a blues slinger and he can sing very well, as exemplified by this off-the-cuff video.
Albert King Stings! I love his playing. He reminds of Eric Clapton a lot (in fact, Clapton got some of his style from him). Listen to the way he plays (and take a look at how he holds his guitar…it’s been inverted to give him good vibratos on the thinner strings and he does not use a pick). His licks are a signature of the early styles of Blues Rock (amplified).
Of course, there’s SRV, short for Stevie Ray Vaughn who came and left this earth quickly, but left a legacy of trailblazing BluJes guitar. Here’s Stevie playing Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) by Jimi Hendrix.
And here’s something live from MTV:
BB King is one of Blues guitar’s greatest players. In this video, he offers interesting insights in his playing and Blues music in general. You can learn the “BB box” watching this video.
